KCSC premiered on March 14, 1951, as part of the Speech and Drama branch in what is now Ayers corridor as a radio drama on the camp s public deal with the system. within the early 60s, Chico country’s campus has become any other world after a handful of radio fanatics followed KCSC and created the beginning of rock and roll radio in Chico. as the 70s tough-rock “aspect” waned, KCSC listeners determined a new buddy within the Livewire — DJs who would continually play their requests. continually some steps in advance of the trend, KCSC become named “high-quality university Radio Station” in a 1987 SPIN survey. nowadays, KCSC Radio prospers on internet radio where KCSC were for the remaining 20 years.
